The location of this hotel is AWESOME! Located in the San Marco neighborhood, in a quiet little plaza less than a 10 minute walk from San Marco Square. It was nice to feel in the center of everything but still in a quiet part of the neighborhood. Walking distance to the Rialto Bridge and San Polo, and not too far from some quieter spots in Dorsoduro and Cannaregio. Great location. My partner and I had a junior suite on the top floor – it was a quirky, very venetian style room. It was one of the bigger hotel rooms we had throughout our 2 weeks in Italy, comfortable and clean with a nice view of the square below. There's a nice cafe and a Spritz bar right outside in the Plaza Campo Santo Stefano. We walked almost everywhere, and it's a short walk to a couple different waterbus stops. The stairs and elevator are both a tight squeeze, but we made it work even with two checked bags and carry-ons. We had zero complaints about Hotel Santo Stefano!

We were made to feel so welcome by the wonderful staff at Hotel Santo Stefano. Marco kindly stayed past his normal clock off time to check us in after a very late evening flight. The room was small but as you would expect for Venice. It had everything we needed including a lift for heavy luggage. The only small thing - which could not be helped as air con cannot be supplied by italian law until May - was the room was quite warm for us in the evenings. Can't have it all! The weather was beautiful for the length of our stay. We would definitely recommend Hotel Santo Stefano.

The staff was wonderful. Especially the women who worked the concierge desk. She had such a beautiful and vibrant energy. I loved her passion for Venice and life. She was a delight. As were all the staff members. The room was clean and comfy, felt like living in an antique from a different time. Beautiful view of the Plaza below from my 5th floor room.

The hotel is situated on a plaza that is great for people-watching. It is not far from the vaporetto and from San Marco and its surrounding shopping areas. A very nice breakfast was available, and the staff went out of their way to be helpful. Also, somewhat unusual for Venice, there is small elevator, important for those of us with mobility issues.

Location was perfect for the stay, and the surrounding is calm. The staff were helpful, and they ensure to reply to any demand you ask so you have a wonderful stay. The room was big enough for a short stay. The cleaning was done perfectly. The breakfast is simple.
